7-Day Challenge
Read More Books
The men who read for 30 minutes a day have a compounding advantage over everyone who watches Netflix instead. This week, you build the habit.
Strong in your body. Clear in your mind. Free in your soul.
Start My Read More BooksWe See You
You buy books. You start them. You get to chapter 3. Then life happens and the book sits on your nightstand for 6 months. It's not that you don't want to read — it's that reading has no trigger, no system, and no momentum. This week, you fix all three. 30 minutes a day is 18 books a year. That's a serious competitive edge.
The Journey
Your 7-Day
Journey
See exactly what happens — day by day.
The biggest reason men don't read is indecision. Today you'll pick ONE book and commit to finishing it this week — non-fiction, under 250 pages recommended for first-timers back to reading. No browsing for 40 minutes. Pick one within 10 minutes. One decision made is better than the perfect book never started.
Attach reading to an existing habit: morning coffee, lunch break, 30 minutes before bed. Write it down as "When X, I read for Y minutes." Habit stacking is how reading becomes automatic. The slot is more important than the book — a system outlasts motivation every time.
Set a timer for 30 minutes. Phone on silent, in another room. No interruptions. This is your first complete reading block. The goal isn't to read fast — it's to read without stopping. Log what page you reached. You've just broken the inertia.
Reading fast is a skill. Today you'll use the "preview and question" technique: skim headings and summaries before reading in detail, then ask yourself 3 questions before each chapter. Retention doubles when your brain is primed for answers, not just passively scanning words.
Highlight or write down the 3 most important ideas from what you've read so far. Then in your own words, explain them as if teaching a friend. The Feynman Technique: if you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it yet. Reading without notes is entertainment. Reading with notes is investment.
Reading sticks when it's tied to identity. Write: "I am someone who reads every day." Then write 3 reasons why reading matters for where you want to go. CEOs read an average of 60 books a year. Your why makes the habit durable when motivation runs out.
Complete today's reading session and build your next 5 books list. One book at a time, but always have the next one ready. The habit dies in the gap between books. You don't need to feel like reading — you need a system that doesn't depend on how you feel.

Got Questions?
Questions About
This Challenge
No. Fiction builds different skills — empathy, narrative thinking, mental models. Pick what you'll actually finish. The habit comes before the content optimization. Once you have a daily slot, then you can curate.
It's one episode less per night. 30 min/day = roughly 18 books/year at an average reading pace. That's a real edge over someone who reads zero. You can start with 15 minutes and build up.
Speed comes with volume. Don't optimize speed before building the habit. Just read. Every book makes you faster than the last. Day 4 introduces techniques — but only after you have momentum.
A short, practical book in an area you're already interested in. Under 250 pages. High engagement beats prestige. A book you finish beats a "better" book you abandon at chapter 3.

“"I've been 'meaning to read more' for 3 years. Day 2 habit stacking — I attached it to morning coffee. 4 months in, still going. I've finished 7 books since this challenge."”
“"The note-taking method on Day 5 changed how I read. I actually remember what I read now instead of it evaporating two days later. That alone made the whole week worth it."”
“"Finished my first book in 9 days. Then the next one. Then the next. I had no idea 30 minutes a day compounded like that. I'm at 11 books this year — more than the last 3 years combined."”
