7-Day Challenge

More Focus and Concentration

You sit down to work and 10 minutes later you're checking your phone, opening a new tab, or answering a message that could have waited. Your brain never gets the chance to go deep. This week, you'll train your focus like a muscle — and by Day 7, you'll have a system that lets you lock in whenever you need to.

Strong in your body. Clear in your mind. Free in your soul.

Start My More Focus and Concentration
You're not lazy. You're not broken. You're overstimulated. Your phone buzzes 80 times a day, every app is designed to hijack your attention, and your brain has been trained to crave the next dopamine hit every few minutes. The result? You can't sit with one task for 30 minutes straight. Important work keeps getting pushed to "later." And at the end of the day, you've been busy but accomplished almost nothing that mattered. You don't need another productivity hack — you need to retrain your brain to focus.

Your 7-Day
Journey

See exactly what happens — day by day.

Before you can fix your focus, you need to see what's breaking it. Today you'll track every single distraction for one work session — phone checks, tab switches, random thoughts, people interrupting you. You'll write down the trigger, the time, and what you were doing before. Most guys are shocked when they see the actual number. This list becomes your battle plan for the rest of the week.

Mini-task Track every distraction during a 2-hour work block. Log trigger, time, and what pulled you away. 15 min

Your environment is either working for you or against you. Today you'll set up your physical and digital space for deep focus. Phone in another room or in a timed lockbox. Browser tabs closed. Notifications silenced. One task visible on screen. You'll run a 45-minute focus block in this environment and feel the difference immediately.

Mini-task Set up your distraction-free workspace. Run a 45-minute focus block with your phone in another room. 15 min

Multitasking is a lie. Every time you switch tasks, your brain needs 23 minutes to fully refocus. Today you'll learn time-blocking — scheduling specific tasks into dedicated blocks with clear start and end times. You'll plan tomorrow's entire workday in blocks of 60-90 minutes with breaks in between. No more reacting to whatever feels urgent.

Mini-task Time-block your entire next workday. Each block: one task, one focus, one outcome. 15 min

Focus is a skill, and like any skill, it atrophies without practice. Today you'll do a focus training session: set a timer for 25 minutes, work on one task, and every time your mind wanders — notice it, write a tick mark, and return. That's one rep. The goal isn't zero wandering, it's faster recovery. You'll do three rounds with 5-minute breaks.

Mini-task Complete 3 rounds of 25-minute focused work. Count every mind-wander and track your tick marks per round. 10 min

You can't focus when you're running on 5 hours of sleep and your third coffee. Today you'll map your energy peaks — the 2-3 hours each day when your brain is sharpest. Then you'll assign your hardest, most important work to those peaks. Easy admin and emails go in the energy valleys. This alone can double your output without working more hours.

Mini-task Identify your top 2-3 peak energy hours. Reschedule your hardest task into that window tomorrow. 10 min

Elite performers don't rely on willpower — they use pre-work rituals to signal their brain "it's time to lock in." Today you'll create your personal focus ritual: a 3-5 minute sequence you do before every deep work session. It could be making a specific tea, putting on noise-cancelling headphones, writing your session goal on paper, or a breathing exercise. The ritual becomes your on-switch.

Mini-task Design your 3-5 minute pre-focus ritual. Test it before a 60-minute deep work session. 15 min

You've tested every piece. Today you'll combine everything into your personal Focus System — a one-page document with your distraction triggers and countermeasures, your time-block template, your energy peak schedule, and your focus ritual. This is your playbook. When focus slips in the future (and it will), you don't start from scratch — you pull out this page and recalibrate.

Mini-task Write your one-page Focus System. Include triggers, time-blocks, energy peaks, and your ritual. Put it where you'll see it daily. 15 min

Why This Works Better Than
Doing It Alone

Doing It Alone
With MENSTRIVE
× You try a focus app, use it for 3 days, then go back to checking your phone every 10 minutes.
You build a complete Focus System — triggers, environment, time-blocks, and ritual — that works because it's designed around YOUR habits.
× You schedule "deep work" in your calendar but never actually protect that time from interruptions.
By Day 2 you've set up a distraction-free environment. By Day 6 your focus ritual makes deep work automatic.
× You blame yourself for lack of discipline when the real problem is your environment and habits.
You identify the exact triggers breaking your focus and build specific countermeasures for each one.

Questions About
This Challenge

This challenge teaches practical focus techniques that work whether or not you have ADHD. Many of these methods — environment design, time-blocking, focus rituals — are actually recommended by ADHD coaches. That said, if you suspect ADHD, we encourage you to also talk to a professional.

Day 2 covers both physical and digital environment setup. For open offices, we focus on headphone signals, scheduled "do not disturb" blocks, and a specific focus ritual that works anywhere — even in loud environments.

Pomodoro is one small tool. This challenge builds an entire system — distraction mapping, environment design, energy management, and a personal focus ritual. Pomodoro might be part of your system, but it's not the whole thing.

The daily tasks take 10-15 minutes. But the real training happens during your normal workday — you'll apply each technique to work you're already doing. No extra hours needed.

You don't need to disappear for 8 hours. Even two protected 45-minute blocks per day will transform your output. On Day 3 you'll learn how to schedule communication windows so you stay responsive without being constantly interrupted.

This Is Made
for You If…

  • You can't work for 30 minutes without checking your phone or opening a new tab
  • You end most days feeling busy but knowing you didn't get the important stuff done
  • You've tried productivity apps and focus techniques but nothing stuck past a week
  • You know you're capable of great work but your scattered attention keeps holding you back
  • You want a repeatable system for deep focus — not another motivational video

“"The distraction tracking on Day 1 was brutal — I checked my phone 34 times in 2 hours. By Day 7, I was doing 90-minute focus blocks without even thinking about it. The Focus System page is still pinned above my desk."”

“"The energy peak mapping changed everything. I was doing my hardest work at 3pm when my brain was toast. Now I code from 9-11am and handle emails after lunch. Same hours, twice the output."”

“"I was skeptical about the focus ritual — making tea and writing my goal felt silly. But after a week, it became my on-switch. The moment I start the ritual, my brain knows it's go-time. Genuinely surprised how well this works."”
